Where Are They Now?

In this new regular feature, MQABL catches up with a few alumni to learn what they are doing in their careers today. In this issue, three of our young former supply chain students report on their work.

Lauren Camp

My position for 3M is Supply Chain Analyst at the Little Rock, AR granule plant. Our plant makes roofing granules, and my focus is on raw materials needed for production. My main responsibilities include ordering the raw materials for the plant (pigments, chemicals) and managing the inventory, reconciling plant inventory against the corporate inventory balances, tracking inventory at the 3M-owned quarry and working with the railroad to order inbound rail cars.

Sam Patton

I work at Kenan Advantage Group in Memphis in our Food Grade Division, where I am Assistant Terminal Manager for the Specialty Products Group. Drivers and I work together to deliver liquid bulk across the U.S. in a timely and safe manner. Working on the front lines of the supply chain is a challenging but rewarding experience. I enjoy the daily grind of optimizing our assets to fully service our customers. The transportation industry is a great opportunity for any young professional to start their career.

Austin Rogers

I am a Buyer for Georgia-Pacific Consumer Operations in Zachary, LA. I am responsible for all of the procurement operations for the Fine Paper area of the mill. A typical day for me consists of finding answers to tough problems, updating purchase orders and issuing out several contracts to requested contractors. I enjoy working for GP. I am very thankful for the education I received at MS State. MS State has played a huge part in my career with GP. In fact, I received the job offer after I had interviewed through the career fair on campus.
